Istanbul, Turkey scores top spot on our Cat Safari meter. Chances are around 99.9% you will see a cat if you keep your eyes open and are awake while you sightsee. Istanbul is separated into two main tourist areas on either side of the Boshporus River and Galata Bridge. We found the cat-spotting pretty evenly matched on both sides including colonies of multiple cats. The map below gives a general idea about where to start your search.
