Cats of Rome, Italy
Rome, Italy scores low on our Cat Safari meter, and I'm sorry to say that. Chances are around 20% you will see a cat if you keep your eyes open as you walk around the historical center. Our first visit many years ago had more cats out in the open, but that has changed on our last few visits. The forum and colosseum used to be running wild with them, but not so much anymore. With that being said, you can turn that score to 100% if you visit Torre Argentina cat sanctuary right in the middle of the best part of Rome. The map below gives a general idea about where to start your search. Make sure you buy some dry cat food to keep with you and start cat-spotting!
