Split, Croatia scores high on our Cat Safari meter. Chances are around 95% you will see a cat if you keep your eyes open. Best places to spot are around and inside Diocletian's Palace in the old section. They are pretty much everywhere though they're usually moving. Another area to check is the Riva promenade. We saw quite a few there usually lounging near the bushes or park benches. The map below gives a general idea about where to start your search.
